2nd Amended Caso dBAnnouncing a new,
2nd update of the
Caso dB which reflects changes in the turn-around or “ready time” of most aircraft loadouts. The loadouts have been accelerated for quicker game play. To some of the more traditional and conservative gamers of the Harpoon community, this most likely will be viewed as heresy. However, the Indochine Campaign is based on a “what if” premise, so certain liberties have already been taken. For the sake of keeping the game moving and exciting, the intent is to prevent long and drawn out scenarios. You will find the update in the Players DB Harpoon Library, and along with it all the Indochine scenarios to date will be re-synched with the new database.
In addition, this notice announces the
3rd and
latest Indochine Battleset,
“Too Few Victories,” which will be comprised of six new scenarios. Thanks and enjoy!

03.0 Too Few VictoriesThis is to announce the
3rd Battleset, consisting of six scenarios that occur during May-Jun of 2007.
Still finding themselves in a defensive posture, the Allies look desperately for somewhere to strike a blow. Morale is low, and the defeatists have the podium. The strategists realize that although a quick victory would be a welcome event, holding the line is the most important action at this point. Spin doctors try to paint a positive picture while the strategy is to hold tight and stay the course.

The 12th NEW Indochine Campaign Scenario!12 The 2nd Beagle ConflictSouth/Central America/Carribean/US
Tierra del Fuego, Southern tip of the Americas:
Spanish for "Fireland" or "Land of Fire," Tierra del Fuego is an archepelago off the southernmost tip of the South American mainland across the Strait of Magellan. It is an area that is divided by both Chile and Argentina. Beagle Channel is a strait in this archipelago island chain. The Beagle Channel, the Straits of Magellan to the north, and the open ocean Drake Passage to the south are the three navigable passages around South America between the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans. The channel was named after the ship HMS Beagle during its first hydrographic survey off these southern coasts. The ship was famous for the English naturalist, Charles Darwin, who was along as a self-funding supernumerary, and at the time, an amateur naturalist.
From the 1950's to 1970's, several incidents involving the Chilean and Argentine Navies occurred in the waters of the Beagle Channel. This ended with the Treaty of Peace and Friendship of 1984 between Chile and Argentina.
Once again that remote area of the world comes under conflict. Argentine forces from their main southern combined military base at Rio Gallegos, together with elements of their southern naval base at Ushuaia attempt to seize control of the Beagle Channel. In this difficult endeavor, the Argentines plan a multifaceted attack on the Chilean naval base at Puerto Williams. Chilean military units are on hand to answer the call in a desperate confrontation.
